City and Streets
Street photography is one of the most challenging but also one of the most rewarding genres of photography. Sometimes called candid photography, documenting people in their everyday environment is not easy - it requires patience, hard work and even a little bravery to approach and photograph complete strangers, however, engaging with individuals, although very challenging can reap great photographic rewards. Henri Cartier-Bresson coined the phrase "the decisive moment", which resonates particularly well with the street photographer’s aim: taking advantage of that split second in which the elements of a photograph come together.
I find cities are not only an ideal place to capture images of people going about their everyday life, but Cityscapes are also very appealing to me whether the architecture be ancient or modern. With foto-art I have attempted to create images which reflect an illustrative approach that sets them aside from the normal 'street' imagery.
