Pictures with Poems
As much as I enjoy photography I also like to dabble in the odd poem or rhyme. Last year I created some Photo Books and sold them to support a charity and for one of the images I created a short poem, so I thought maybe I can do a few more. So on this page is a small collection of Pictures with Poems which I hope you will like; more may be added in the future. You can also see some of my other poems on my website Verses and Rhymes by clicking here

It's a challenge, it's an art, it's definitely a skill
You need to work hard at it and certainly have the will It requires a lot of patience, sometimes bravery and luck Particularly when a stranger wants to see the shot you took To document an incident, a protest or event And interpret that in images to illustrate what was meant Whether on the move or discreetly placed you require a lot of stealth But perseverance will provide you with photographic wealth Not necessarily financially but a portfolio thats full Of moments captured decisively reflecting life that's never dull |

The waves are gently lapping forming ripples in the sand
I look into the distance and see the silhouette of land Blue skies are filled with storm clouds pierced by rays of sun It's not long since the dawn did break, a new day has begun The horizon mesmerises as I strain to see what's there It's the beauty of this seascape which will bring me back again |

When the vista is wide, so become your eyes
You take in the view with it's colours and hues Trees tall and small make you look on in awe At the river that's flowing or the sunlight that's glowing Or the textures so clear whether distant or near In the meadows and grass and through the mountain pass The fluffy white clouds provide a cover and shroud Producing a gentle haze to challenge your gaze As you look to the skies the wonder of nature brings tears to your eyes |

So many trees in the Forest Of Dean
Oak, Birch, and Beech, are just some to be seen Beauty abounds wherever you walk Wonderful bird life from Blue Tits to Hawks Find magic in the scowls of Puzzlewood Or look down from Yat Rock the view is so good Whatever the season it’s still lovely and green The wonderful, beautiful Forest Of Dean |
